Like most of America I had off on Wednesday for New Years Eve. A good friend who has recently jumped on the Warmachine bandwagon and I have been talking about a 100 big game for awhile now. We opted for super simple rules, 100 points two casters no real restrictions to feats or activations. Just a fun simple HUGE game. We did opt to put a single flag point in the middle of the board for CP. We thought with 100 points we should up the CP to 10 for victory over 5. That was a mistake, we really should have kept it at 5.
I took a non optimized Ret list. Mainly because it was the faction I could hit 100 points with. I'm getting there with some of the others but just not quite there. Phil brought a troops heavy trolls list that ended up giving me more units than I could engage. That and my continual cursing of the tough trait. I swear he had a troll champion absorb over 50 points of damage through several attacks just to shrug it off with a tough check.

We built a fun 4*8 board with ruins on one side and simple hills and trees for the rest. I set up a strong middle and Phil spread out across the entire side.
I did not have the forethought to record each turn, so really just some high lights from the game
Phil's devious little pig burrowers popped up and locked in pretty solid with my halberdiers backed up by the Artificer. All the while my sniper traded shots with his mercs. This scrum did successfully close up that side of the board for both of us.
The rest of the game centered around the center flag point and the ruins side of the board. Phil's riders and scouts swept in through the ruins and pinned in my heavy infantry and jacks. Hyperion just meandered around the center of the board trying to drop 5 inch pie plates on things. There was allot of really good rolls and combos thrown on both sides and had we had more time this would have been a brutal beat down for my Ret.
We started around 11:30 and I called it around 4. We were both mentally beat trying to keep track of all the action and what all we needed to do in what order.
